Behind the Scenes: Our Senior Marketing Manager, Saumya!

Apr 12, 2022

1. Who is Saumya, in your own words?

I am driven by the hustle, but am pragmatic and analytical by nature. I thrive on working with a clear end-goal in mind, both in my personal and professional life.

2. What does a typical day look like for you at Parcel Perform and what are you currently working on?

My day begins with monitoring ongoing campaigns, inbound leads across the various markets and clearing emails, along with the daily team standup. The rest of my morning is spent in meetings with different teams after which I move onto a quiet afternoon dedicated to planning and creation. At some point in my day, I also read a feed of marketing blogs and google alerts to keep a tab on the latest trends and competition.

3. What advice do you have for others in Marketing?

Have an experimental mindset! One of the biggest learnings I've had from my career so far is that a ‘build, test, iterate and repeat’ approach takes you a long way. It largely takes out the fear of failure when testing  novel, creative ideas.

4. Describe your change in roles and your transition from being a Marketing Manager to a Senior Marketing Manager?

I joined Parcel Perform when it was a leaner team. It gave me the opportunity to quickly get involved in all specializations of marketing and better align the entire marketing function’s goals with that of a B2B SaaS and tech business. As the Senior Marketing Manager, I have shifted my focus to drive product growth with a customer-first goal.

5. What is your favorite thing about working as a Senior Marketing Manager at Parcel Perform?

The growing pains that we face everyday as a rapidly expanding business ensures that there is never a dull day. With a product marketing focus, I enjoy deep diving into the nuances of our products and strategically positioning it for different user groups to drive demand. It’s the perfect mix of technical understanding and creative solutioning for e-commerce logistics -  a rather traditional industry which is booming and ripe for disruption!

6. What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I am a foodie and enjoy trying out food from different parts of the world! I am passionate about the history and origin behind what I eat along with everything else in between. I also dabbled in adapting different traditional recipes to suit my vegetarian lifestyle during the lockdown when travel was no longer an option. It’s now a regular stress buster for me!

7. What excites you most about Parcel Perform?

I love being inspired by the smart people I work with - the challenge really keeps me going. The teams at Parcel Perform are dynamic, vibrant and they willingly share professional knowledge and personal experiences with one another. Also, our team retro sessions where we discuss our highs and lows are an excellent way to end the week.

8. A motto or personal mantra to end off?

“Don’t be afraid to color outside the lines.”
