CEVA Logistics Launches First Low Carbon LCL Ocean Freight Service Between France & Ivory Coast

CEVA Logistics, a worldwide ecommerce logistics provider devoted to sustainable logistics, has started a new weekly Less Than Container Load (LCL) ocean freight service between Rouen, Lyon, Marseille, and Abidjan. Because of CEVA Logistics' major investment in marine biofuels, the new LCL service between France and Ivory Coast emits 84% less CO2 than conventional maritime freight.

The decarbonized LCL service, which is accessible for all sorts of cargo, is designed with performance and sustainability in mind. It departs weekly and takes 24 days to go between Rouen, France and Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

PostNord Receives Long-term Credit Rating of A from Nordic Credit Rating

Nordic Credit Rating (NCR), a credit rating organization, analyzed PostNord's creditworthiness and granted it an A credit rating. This grade is based on PostNord's dominant position in the Nordic parcel and logistics sector. Furthermore, NCR emphasizes PostNord's strong financial leverage and profitability, as well as its powerful owners, the Danish and Swedish states. NCR also believes that PostNord's outlook is steady.

"The rating affirms our financial strength, with minimal leverage, and that our change is having a beneficial impact.  "We continue to increase the competitiveness of our parcel and logistics operations, as well as work for regulatory reliefs in the Swedish postal market," says Annemarie Gardshol, President and Group CEO."

Maersk Recognized as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™

Maersk has once again been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant™ for Third-Party Logistics (3PL), marking its fourth consecutive year receiving this distinction. The company states that this recognition reflects its ongoing commitment to delivering integrated, end-to-end logistics solutions that adapt to the changing demands of its global clients.

The Gartner report assesses the capabilities of major global 3PL providers and examines current and emerging trends in logistics outsourcing. It serves as a valuable resource for logistics decision-makers evaluating whether to delegate parts of their supply chain operations. Gartner notes that Leaders demonstrate strong execution of their vision and are well prepared for future challenges.

Maersk attributes its placement in the Leader quadrant to its focus on offering comprehensive logistics services designed to connect, safeguard, and streamline global supply chains.

PostNL Announces New Stamp Prices From 1 July

Starting 1 July 2025, PostNL will increase the price of a domestic stamp to €1.31. This adjustment comes in response to the ongoing decline in mail volume and rising operational costs, with the expense of delivering mail now outweighing the revenue it generates. A political decision on reforms to the Postal Act, aimed at ensuring long-term sustainability, is still pending.

Maurice Unck, Director of Mail at PostNL, stated: “We are both privileged and legally obligated to ensure nationwide mail delivery. However, this responsibility is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain as fewer letters are being sent while costs continue to climb. Despite this, our mail carriers are still present on every street across the Netherlands five days a week. This is mandated by law, but it is both resource-heavy and expensive, and increasingly out of sync with the evolving needs of consumers and businesses alike.”

Conclusion

The latest innovations and strategic moves by leading logistics providers in Europe are setting the pace for the region’s evolving ecommerce logistics industry. Sustainability efforts, service improvements, and financial growth all contribute to a more efficient and resilient logistics landscape. As companies like Kuehne+Nagel, CEVA Logistics, PostNord, Maersk, and PostNL continue to push boundaries, Europe’s logistics sector is better equipped to handle increasing demand and drive long-term value for businesses and consumers alike.
