Maersk Inaugurates Its First Integrated Logistics Hub in Senegal

Maersk has recently inaugurated its new state-of-the-art warehousing facility in Senegal. This significant milestone demonstrates Maersk's commitment to expanding and improving logistics infrastructure in West Africa.

Customers benefit from the facility's strategic position, which includes closeness to end markets, manufacturing activities, and port facilities within a 10-kilometre distance. Also, this positioning allows for more effective distribution inside Senegal and easier cross-border shipping to neighboring West African nations.

DB Schenker’s Electric Trucks Provide Effectiveness in Harsh Winter Conditions

The usage of electric trucks by DB Schenker in Finland has demonstrated their dependability even in cold weather.  Over a year, two FUSO eCanter trucks were employed in customer operations and showed their ability to perform even in harsh Finnish winter conditions. This proves that alternative drive systems can operate well even in frigid temperatures.

In addition, the vehicles were demonstrated to be dependable in temperatures as low as -30°C, which are common in Lapland near the Arctic Circle in Northern Finland.

Tristan Keusgen, Head of European Fleet Management at DB Schenker, says, "At DB Schenker, we are dedicated to pioneering solutions that match the needs of modern logistics.  We have been successfully running two electric trucks in Finland for a year. With this successful deployment of electric vehicles in an area like Lapland, which has harsh weather conditions, we demonstrate once again that DB Schenker is paving the road for a sustainable logistics future."
